Derek Chambers is a Registered Professional Engineer in Washington State (No. 32764) and has a Master of Public Health Degree from the University of Washington in Seattle, Washington. Derek retired in 2018 from a 27 year career with the United States Public Health Service working on Indian Reservations in Wisconsin, Michigan's Upper Peninsula, Washington's Olympic Peninsula, working with Alaska Natives in the villages along the Yukon and Tanana Rivers in central Alaska, and finally working with the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands Bureau of Environmental and Coastal Quality. Derek along with his family have called Saipan home since 2004. Prior to joining the Public Health Service, Derek was a Peace Corps volunteer in Kenya.
Derek enjoys life on the island playing Ultimate Frisbee with his sons, snorkeling and paddling with his wife, cycling with friends, partaking in the weekly run in the jungle on Saturdays and playing his ukulele.
